About QVS
QVS Group is Australia’s longest established, privately owned 24/7 specialist and emergency hospital group. We have grown relatively quickly and are now a team of more than 180, based across two purpose-built hospitals on the north side of Brisbane with plans to open a new hospital at the Sunshine Coast in 2025. We are a diverse group of specialists, emergency vets, nurses, technicians and support professionals that are committed to working collaboratively to provide compassionate veterinary expertise 24/7. Current disciplines include internal medicine, surgery, emergency and critical care, diagnostic imaging, theriogenology, dermatology, dentistry, anaesthesia and cardiology with immediate plans to expand our services.
About the role
- Take the lead in articulating and championing the core values of the organisation and devising and executing strategies and plans that align with and reinforce these values.
- Lead our exceptional team, providing operational excellence so our clinical teams can focus on delivering quality care.
- Establish strong relationships with referring veterinarians, manage operations, and spearhead business development to enhance QVS' success.
- Foster an environment with clear role responsibilities, a positive workplace culture and retention of our talented team through collaborative and effective leadership.
- Responsibility for managing and driving improved financial performance across the group with responsibility for the P&L

Requirements of the Role:
Preferred qualifications, skills and experience will include:
- Qualifications in a relevant field such as business, commerce, MBA, or similar
- Demonstrated success in a leadership and management role in a large veterinary hospital or specialist medical environment
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organisational abilities with a hands-on, can do mindset
- Compassion for animals and a strong desire to support those who care for our patients, including our team, our patients’ families and our referring veterinarian community
