THE ROLE
The General Manager - Finance plays a crucial role in overseeing, managing and co-ordinating the financial reporting function at Mulpha Australia and integrating with the Malaysian team for Mulpha Berhad reporting. This position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in finance, preferably within the real estate industry. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, will be a strategic thinker, with a deep understanding of financial accounting and be happy in the detail when required.
Key responsibilities will include.
- Provide leadership and direction to the corporate finance team fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
- Lead for driving and managing process and system improvement which impacts the Group.
- Lead a team to prepare consolidated monthly and quarterly financial reports for the Mulpha Australia Limited (Group)
- Lead a team to prepare annual statutory financial statements for Group and subsidiaries in accordance with IFRS and regulatory / financing reporting requirements.
- Review all consolidations, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Review and provide feedback for Mulpha International Berhad (MIB) relation to quarterly and annual reports.
- Prepare technical accounting papers, reporting file notes or guidance papers on new accounting standard and new business activities.
- Attend Audit Committee meetings to present technical papers.
- Update and support the business units and management of new accounting standards and impacts.
- Responsible for Acquisition and Divestment accounting calculations, working with Divisional Heads of Finance
YOUR BACKGROUND
Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce / business with an accounting major.
- Significant experience in financial leadership roles, preferably as a Group FC (2-5 years) or in a similar capacity, demonstrating a track record of success in financial management and strategic decision-making.
- Real Estate Industry Experience: Ideally but not essential previous experience and expertise in the real estate industry or a trading business.
- Comprehensive understanding of financial management principles, practices, and accounting standards.
- Technically proficient in financial reporting standards (such as GAAP or IFRS), financial analysis techniques, and the ability to interpret financial statements.
- Familiarity with relevant financial regulations, reporting requirements, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience with implementation of ERP systems and reporting tools. And
- Sound knowledge of financial systems, process, technology solutions, and data analytics tools to enhance financial operations, reporting, and analysis.
