This leadership role will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer, and will oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and risk management.The successful candidate will understand the role data and analytics play in adding value through forward looking analysis and insight across multiple performance drivers.Key responsibilities include:Financial Strategy and Planning
- Develop and implement Sealink’s financial strategy in alignment with its overall goals and objectives.
- Lead SeaLink’s annual budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness and provide leadership and co-ordination of business unit budgets.
- Monitor financial performance against budget.
- Lead the financial assessment of new business acquisition opportunities including undertaking financial due diligence processes.
- Drive and ensure strong commercial governance is embedded within the business.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify opportunities for cost reduction and revenue growth.
- Analyse financial data to provide insights and recommendations for improving business operations.
- Prepare and present financial reports to the executive team and board of directors.
- Implementation of continuous improvement strategies to improve business planning and delivery.
- Oversee the development and implementation of a Financial Risk management plan.
- Identify and assess financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Stay current with industry trends and changes in financial regulations to ensure compliance.
- Provide leadership to business unit finance teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and professional growth.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to business unit finance teams.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders, including auditors, to ensure transparency and compliance.
- Serve as a financial spokesperson for SeaLink when interacting with external parties.
- Degree qualified in a financial discipline.
- CA / CPA or equivalent + financial and management accounting experience.
- Extensive experience in senior finance roles with ASX listed company experience being desirable.
- Strong commercial acumen - able to translate business performance drivers into financial outcomes.
- Experience partnering with senior business leaders.
- Experience driving analytical insights.
- People management in a high-performance environment.
- Proven experience in supporting the senior management team.
- Track record of driving productivity / efficiency improvement
- Substantial experience in change management.
- Experience in business acquisitions/sales and the undertaking of due diligence processes.
- High level communication skills with the ability to negotiate effective outcomes.
