The purpose of the position of GM KFP, is to work with the CEO and Portfolio GMs to strategically develop the property and safely and efficiently manage daily operations. This includes responsibility to deliver profound visitor experiences, to grow admission numbers that underpin the viability of KFP, to manage animal, vet, horticultural, asset, commercial services which provide excellent animal standards of care and sustainability, and to receive consistently high visitor experience ratings that in turn deliver increased visitation.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Degree in zoology, environment or conservation, or equivalent experience
- Sound understanding of the zoo industry, including animal management, visitor experience, horticulture, conservation and education for conservation
- Able to deliver strategy through effective planning, communication and measurement
- A leadership style which is, approachable, compassionate, and visible. Coachable and able to coach others
- Demonstrated experience in leading staff, able to develop a unified team spirit and be an agent for organisational change
- Demonstrated experience in the successful leadership and management of a zoo, sanctuary or conservation organisation, including developing strategy, developing and controlling organisational budgets and leading operational staff.
- Experience in overseeing complex project delivery and ensuring that project outcomes are achieved through collaboration
