About the Position
The Senior Payroll Officer will play a pivotal role in managing the payroll service providers and providing specialist advice and support in regard to the payroll function to the wider team. The position will sit with the Human Resources team to ensure seamless operations and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with HR and Payroll Project Manager to transition payroll to a managed service, ensuring documentation of workflows and data integrity.
- Manage end to end payroll processing of the fortnightly pay run, including Aurion and Human force.
- Oversee payroll service providers to uphold security, compliance, and performance standards, managing risks such as Superannuation and PAYG obligations.
- Provide specialist advice and support for the administration of Workers Compensation, Superannuation and PAYG obligations, premium information, calculation of entitlements, and compliance reporting.
- Lead projects related to HRIS / payroll system improvements, which include research, analysis, consultation, developing project plans, coordinating actions and implementation.
- Provide guidance on operational efficiencies and participate in organisational initiatives.
Suitable candidates will have a combination of the following experience and skills:
- Tertiary degree required
- Excellent ability to build relationships with stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in Microsoft Excel specifically in both Pivot Tables & V look ups
- Experience in managing a managed service
- Experience with Aurion and Human force would be highly advantageous
- A high level of accuracy and organisation
