Newton College is seeking an experienced General Manager to spearhead the development and implementation of strategic and operational plans aimed at driving growth, profitability, and quality education outcomes for the college.
As a member of the executive team, this role involves providing expert advice on strategy, policy, procedures, planning, and operations to ensure the Institute meets its strategic goals, objectives, and maintains business continuity.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing strong and collaborative relationships with stakeholders, including government bodies and other educational institutions.
- Reporting to the CEO and implementing strategies set by the executive team.
- Managing operations to ensure goals and objectives within the strategic framework are achieved.
- Collaborating with procurement on the planning and execution of strategic procurement activities.
- Managing significant budgets.
- Overseeing supplier and contractor performance to ensure consistent delivery and value for money.
- Being a key member of the Campus Services leadership team.
This role is crucial in fostering a progressive and adaptable culture within the organization, prioritizing continuous improvement, student success, innovation, and growth.

- Relevant academic qualifications and extensive management experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of current issues related to student engagement.
- Proficiency in student admissions and compliance for both local and international students.
- Thorough knowledge of equal opportunity, occupational health and safety, bullying, harassment, and privacy legislation.
- Proven expertise in managing the student lifecycle at tertiary education levels.
- Successful track record in developing and executing marketing strategies, including online and social media.
- Demonstrated ability in strategic planning and effective use of Customer Relationship Management systems.
