The role:
The General Manager holds a pivotal position in steering the company's expansion, operational efficiency, and strategic trajectory.
Responsible for supervising all personnel, budgets, and activities within the organization, the role aims to meet annual sales and EBITDA objectives while prioritizing the safety of our workforce in a dynamic, high-volume national enterprise.
It is imperative that the General Manager embodies thoughtful leadership and decisive decision-making, fostering employee growth and productivity.
Duties and responsibilities
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and partners.
- Manage budgets and optimize spending.
- Enforce policies and procedures.
- Foster a productive work environment and support professional development of employees.
- Assess and enhance operational and financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations by staff.
- Participate in organization-wide, site-based, and team meetings, as well as collaborative planning activities.
- Contribute to ongoing improvement of systems and processes to meet professional and industry standards.
- Fulfill Work Health and Safety obligations outlined in organizational policies and procedures.
- Uphold responsibilities related to equity and diversity as outlined in organizational policies and procedures.
- Provide assistance and support to management in organizational matters as needed.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 5 years in a Senior/Executive Management role
- Fire Protection technical experience will be highly regarded.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with clients, employees, and other stakeholders.
- Strong financial management skills including experience developing financials forecast and budgets.
- Knowledge of business process and functions (finance, HR, procurement, operations etc.)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
- Tertiary qualifications will be highly regarded.
