Working in collaboration with the Chief Executive, the General ManagerOptions for Community Living is responsible for the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of services provided to participants at Araluen. As an integral member of Executive Leadership Team, you will play a key role in the implementation of Araluen’s strategic plan and the development of quality participant driven services. It is considered imperative that in this leadership role the incumbent lives out Araluen’s commitment to values and behaviours.
The position leads and manages the delivery and development of Options for Community Living services, ensures they operate to budget, implements appropriate policies and procedures to meet the organisation’s objectives, and ensures required standards and legislative and compliance obligations, are met.
The position must exhibit and embrace alternative, imaginative person centred supports while ensuring each participant is empowered and encouraged to achieve their goals and dreams. This position is responsible for providing inspirational and collaborative leadership with a clear vision to staff that will motivate them to ensure that participants are supported to live and achieve their outcomes.
This role requires someone who is prepared to challenge the status quo and who is prepared to take measured risks to ensure the positive outcome for the participants who choose Araluen’s services. This will entail decisive and accountable decisions both internally and externally to ensure goals are achieved whilst ensuring financial viability within the organisation.
This role will lead by example to affirm the delivering of imaginative, considerate, caring, reliable supports at Araluen – where you are committed to uphold, advocate and deliver participants human rights and to build trusting and respectful relationships with our participants, the people who are important to them and the communities in which they live.
This is a part-time/fulltime (0.8 – 1.0 EFT), 2-year fixed term contract.

- Minimum Cert IV Community Services (Disability Work) or equivalent qualifications (desirable) or extensive relevant experience

Must haves:
