THE ROLE
The General Manager will lead this dynamic and forward-thinking enterprise in all aspects of orchard operations, driving the achievement of long-term production goals, implementing sustainable farming practices, improving overall business efficiency, and increasing profitability through effective orchard management.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES
Your main responsibilities as General Manager are to;
- Contribute to strategic plans and drive outcomes in line with goals.
- Set KPIs for orchard operations and oversee day-to-day farming activities.
- Lead and oversee the team across multiple assets.
- Plan and manage cost-effective maintenance strategies for orchard assets.
- Implement a workforce plan and maintain regular communication with direct reports.
- Contribute to annual budgets and control operating costs to achieve budget targets.
- Deliver timely reporting for month-end, quarterly, and annual requirements.
- Drive improvement projects to enhance operations.
- Tertiary qualifications in Business/Agricultural field or equivalent
- Experience with stone fruit or apple orchard management
- Extensive team leadership experience
- Business acumen and financial management experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Hands-on and practical approach
The role is located in Swan Hill, Victoria. A highly attractive remuneration package is on offer for the right candidate.
