The VCAA is a statutory body responsible to the Victorian Minister for Education, serving both government and non-government schools. We provide high quality curriculum, assessment and reporting for all Victorian students birth to 18 years.
An exciting opportunity exists to join the Corporate Services Division in Assurance and Improvement Unit for an ongoing full-time position.
The Governance Manager and Board Secretary is responsible for:
- Providing governance and organisational support to the VCAA Board. This includes being responsible for all official documentation and records of meetings and minutes, researching and providing information to members on significant board papers, undertaking the recruitment of board members, undertaking Board membership administration, and ensuring legislative compliance and governance requirements are met.
- Provide leadership to Board Committee secretariat's to ensure high quality and standardised papes are produced by Committee's for the Board.
- Working closely with the CEO, the Executive Leadership Team and other roles within the Office of the CEO, acting as a point of contact with Board members and maintaining relationships between the Board and the organisation.
- Supporting other functions of the Assurance and Improvement Unit, developing and improving frameworks, operations, and services to the organisation.
- The successful applicant will demonstrate a high level of initiative and maturity, significant experience in governance and the functions of a board, and in advising and working with senior executives.
