What You Will Be Doing
This Grade 2 Psychologist role is a unique opportunity for those interested in Health Psychology, specifically rehabilitation and psycho-oncology. It combines 1 day working on the inpatient rehabilitation and Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM) wards and 1 day working in the Lymphoedema Service.
A large proportion of clients seen in the Lymphoedema Service are those experiencing lymphoedema secondary to cancer or those living with lipidema. Psychological work will include supporting clients experiencing depression/anxiety, negative perceptions around body image, adjusting to living with a chronic medical condition and associated changes to function, and/or coping with social stigma. On the inpatient wards, the work is primarily focused on supporting clients with depression / anxiety (e.g., fear of falling), grief and loss, and adjustment difficulties.
In both roles the Psychologist will work as part of the multidisciplinary team to provide holistic physical and mental health care to clients in line with their goals. The Psychologist will achieve this by conducting evidence-based assessment, and formulating appropriate interventions and education for their clients. The Psychologist plays an important role in supporting teams in understanding mental health presentations, management strategies and discharge planning recommendations.
We encourage you to contact us to discuss options for flexible work arrangements.
