An exciting opportunity exists for a qualified and enthusiastic Graduate Development Officer to join Council’s Development and Community Department to assist with the delivery of development services to Council, developers and the community.
Based at the Two Wells Office and reporting directly to the Manager Development Assessment this position will be primarily responsible for:
- Responding to customer requests relating to planning, building and related development advice
- Supporting Council’s Development Assessment Team
- Processing and assisting with assessment of development applications and provide a range of development services.
To be successful in this role, applicants will need:
- Substantially completed tertiary qualifications in Urban Planning, Building or similar
- Knowledge of the South Australian development system
- Excellent organisational, time management, teamwork, record keeping and verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service in gathering of information, recording of information, liaising with other Councils, internal staff, external bodies and the general public
- Attention to detail and the ability to prepare professional written correspondence and reports
- Experience in local government would also be highly regarded.
