Vela APX is one of the operating groups of Constellation Software Inc (CSI). CSI is listed on the Toronto stock exchange (CSU) and acquires, manages, and builds industry specific software companies across the globe, providing them with strategic guidance and financial security.
Vela APX is a division of Vela Software and provides finance, admin, payroll and HR support to our growing number of software companies globally.
About the Role
This role will support the Financial Reporting Manager and Vela APX Group CFO to direct the finance function and assist in balancing financial, commercial and compliance matters across the group. They will also be responsible for the supervision and mentoring of the Graduate Financial Accountant.
Key responsibilities include:
- Group level reporting and analysis
- Group level disclosures preparation and review
- Liaising with Vela Global Head Office finance team to provide insightful commentary on results
- Regular communication, mentoring and guidance to the Vertical Market Portfolio Finance Teams
- Review of accounting workpapers and transactions for the Vela APX H/O entity
- Assist with Mergers and Acquisitions, including due diligence, transaction completion and integration
- Process Improvements and other project work
About You
We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast paced, dynamic environment and possess the self-confidence to approach change with enthusiasm. Your qualifications should include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA or equivalent)
- 2+ years’ experience in related role, preferably within a commercial context
- Experience with consolidated reporting requirements for a large group
- Critical thinking and analytical skills are essential to address our diverse reporting needs
- Experience training and mentoring other team members
- Effective communication skills, comfortable liaising with various stakeholders
