Form of workThe City of Burnside is one of Adelaide's most attractive and historic residential areas and is well known for its tree lined streets, period architecture and plentiful reserves and gardens within a 30 km² area. Located in the South-Eastern corner of Adelaide and just 10 minutes from the Central Business District, the City of Burnside covers 28 suburbs and has a residential population of over 45,000 people.
Council seeks to appoint a suitably qualified, enthusiastic and strategically focused Group Manager to join the Leadership team who will enjoy the challenges of leading the Technical Services and Operations Group to achieve service delivery excellence efficiently, while identifying ongoing improvement of business performance.
The Group Manager Technical Services and Operations drives strategic outcomes across a suite of functions that traditionally includes Open Spaces, City Services, Urban Forestry, Conservation & Land Management, Operations Administration and Traffic Management (structure flexibility available for successful candidate).
As a proven leader with experience contributing at a senior management level, you will demonstrate sound commercial and political acumen. Collaboration between stakeholder groups and strong customer orientation is critical to the success of this role. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with high emotional intelligence and integrity will also ensure your success. Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Engineering, Open Space, Arboriculture, or Horticulture and demonstrated experience in a senior leadership role in a multi-faceted organisation together with an understanding of Local Government is desirable. Lastly, but most importantly, we are looking for someone who will complement and add value to our existing Leadership and operations teams (#1Team).
The role is offered as a full-time, 5-Year fixed term contract with a competitive remuneration and excellent working conditions.
