We are seeking an experienced Guest Service Agent to join our friendly team on a Casual basis (approx 25 to 35 hours per week). There is opportunity for the role to become full time and progress into leadership roles if desired.
About the Role
As a Guest Service Agent, you are the first point of call for our guests. We are looking for a customer focused problem solver who has a natural ability to build rapport and provide great customer service.
The work is fast paced and involves all aspects of hotel Front Office Reception, including various administration duties and customer service;
- Preparing arrival paperwork and room keys
- Processing guest departures, including financial transactions
- Managing room allocations and booking chart
- Providing friendly customer service in response to accommodation or in-house enquiries
- Managing the Front Office inbox, actioning emails accordingly
- Ensuring the smooth running of the reception desk during hotel hours
- Demonstrating strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Taking room service orders and restaurant bookings
- Promoting the business to achieve accommodation sales and repeat guests
The work is complex, interesting and very rewarding - you will be challenged in a good way, with lots of support coupled with extensive training.
The Ideal Candidate
You will have a genuine passion for customer service and making someone's day. Ideally in your working history you will have:
- Previous experience within the tourism, hotel, travel or hospitality sector with an excellent track record in Guest Services
- Completed or be working towards a Hotel, Tourism and/or Business degree (highly regarded but not essential)
- Strong computer skills, with experience using Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
- Experience using RMS, or a similar reservation system, would be advantageous however full training will be provided
- Excellent oral and written communication, including phone manner and a professional approach to email writing
- A highly organised and efficient style of working, with excellent time management skills
- A keen eye for detail, with high standards of personal presentation
- The ability to work mornings, afternoons or evenings and/or a combination of these times. Shifts are rostered on weekdays, weekends, and public holidays when required, and generally shifts can be allocated around family or study commitments to fit with your availability
- A current RSA Qld or ability to acquire this within the first week of starting employment
