Our client is a well established automotive service and repair business with an excellent reputation built over 40 years looking after their valued customers across south-east Queensland. They pride themselves on providing a superior service to their customers and offer genuine good 'old fashioned' customer service. They are currently looking to recruit a Service Manager to run the day to day operations of one of their main metro locations. This is a rare opportunity to join this friendly well run business where you will report directly to the General Manager, will enjoy a high level of autonomy and be valued as a key member of the team.
The Opportunity
You will be running an averaged sized workshop with loyal and well-trained staff and a solid customer base. Although you will be responsible for the day operations and profitability of the branch you will also work in a hands capacity helping the team carry out repairs on vehicles.
The Requirements
This position would suite either an experienced Assistant Service Manager looking to advance their career or a Service Manager looking to join a team where your hard work and dedication will be rewarded and acknowledged. You should be able to demonstrate a proven ability to operate a service and repair centre with a total commitment to providing customers with seamless service delivery that exceeds their expectations. The role requires a dedicated customer service professional with automotive commercial astuteness, strong coaching, learning and development skills and a sound knowledge of the modern automotive technology.
To be considered for an interview for this 'in-demand' position, the following credentials are essential:
- Minimum of 3 years frontline management experience as either an Assistant or Service Manager
- Solid mechanical experience
- Superior customer service and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional negotiation and dispute resolution skills
- Proven background in maximising profitability and meeting both financial and market objectives
- Ability to lead, manage and further develop the branch whilst maintaining a cohesive team spirit
- Well developed sales skills
