Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a HDR Liaison Officer to join Office of Research Services, Research Portfolio, Academic Division.

We're seeking an experienced Client Services Officer to join our Graduate Research Centre. In this role you are responsible for the delivery of a high level of consistent service provision to support HDR students and supervisors during the entire student lifecycle and ensuring continuous improvement of the student and client customer experience. Providing a key contact point for HDR students and staff, you will utilise your skills and knowledge, with specialist knowledge in at least one client area, to problem solve and provide advice and information, or escalate to the Senior HDR Liaison Officer as necessary. Ideally you will thrive in a busy environment, and have a true passion for excellent client service.

The Graduate Research Centre provides exceptional service and support to our Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students. Through the provision of tailored support services, the GRC puts the student at the centre of all that we do, striving to exceed the expectations of our HDR students and supervisors from admission through to graduation. The Client Services Team acts as the key point of contact and provides a high level of consistent service provision to support HDR students and supervisors during the entire student lifecycle ensuring continuous improvement of the student and client customer experience. Providing expert advice and client support, this team facilitates University, Faculty and Centre HDR strategies and initiatives and provides services as part of the HDR Enquiry Management system.

What you need to succeed

  1. Completion of a degree without subsequent relevant work experience; or completion of an associate diploma and at least two years subsequent relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  2. Demonstrated customer service experience and ability to provide informed and relevant advice.
  3. Demonstrated oral and written communication skills with a proven ability to liaise professionally with a diverse range of people at all levels of an organisation.
  4. Demonstrated attention to detail and effective administrative skills, preferably with some experience working with postgraduate research student matters.
  5. Demonstrated ability to manage time and high volume tasks and to assist to meet tight deadlines with competing priorities.
  6. Demonstrated digital literacy including the ability to successfully utilise word processing software, spreadsheets and large corporate databases such as TechnologyOne’s Student Management Solution.
