Role Responsibilities
As the Head of Architecture & Solution Delivery, you will be a key member of the IT Leadership team, working with and reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer (CIO). This role is responsible for overseeing both the architectural vision, roadmap planning and the effective delivery of strategic technology initiatives within our organization. This role drives the convergence of Architecture and delivery excellence to achieve strategic outcomes, exceptional customer experience and enable business growth and performance objectives.
Architectural Leadership:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and other technology leaders to define the long-term architectural vision for our systems and applications.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices to inform architectural decisions.
- Ensure that our technology landscape aligns with business goals, scalability, security, and performance requirements.
- Lead architectural reviews, design sessions, and technology governance processes.
Delivery Leadership:
- Oversee the end-to-end delivery of technology projects, from inception to deployment.
- Work closely with project managers, development teams, and quality assurance to ensure timely and high-quality project execution.
- Define project delivery methodologies, standards, and KPIs.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and effective practices.
Team Leadership:
- Manage and mentor a cross-functional team of architects, engineers, and delivery leaders.
- Foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and skill development within the team.
- Set performance expectations, conduct performance reviews, and address any performance issues.
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion within the technology organization.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Engage with business leaders, product owners, and external partners to understand their technology needs and priorities.
- Translate business strategy and requirements into actionable architectural designs and delivery plans.
- Communicate technology strategies, roadmaps, and progress updates to executive leadership.
Risk Management:
- Identify and mitigate risks related to architectural decisions, project timelines, and resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, security standards, and data privacy regulations.
- Proactively address technical debt and legacy system challenges.
Knowledge & Experience
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in technology leadership roles, including architecture and project delivery.
- Extensive Financial Services industry experience.
- Experience engaging with regulators and industry bodies.
- Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, cloud computing, microservices, and modern development practices.
- Consulting background highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
