Head of CommercialHead of Commercial

The Commercial Leader is responsible for the growth, performance, and continuous improvement of the Commercial Loss Adjusting Claims Management service across all states and territories.


What are my accountabilities?  `
  • Drive profitable growth by formulating and executing the Commercial Property strategy and vision, fostering a customer-centric culture, and delivering exceptional outcomes on commercial claims.

  • Lead, motivate, and develop the Commercial team to create a high-performance work culture that meets current and future business needs.

  • Develop and execute the strategy for Commercial Property, focusing on client engagement, growth, capability, service solutions, and innovation, ensuring alignment with Sedgwick’s strategic direction, vision, and Digital First and MCL initiatives.

  • Accountable for the development and delivery of the Operational assets for the management of Commercial Property claims including Operating manuals, Operational Leadership manuals, process maps, quality control framework.  

  • Oversee that the operational assets are consistently implemented across the Commercial Property team and take accountability for portfolio performance of claims received across client SLAs, internal KPI’s as well as regulatory and compliance requirements. 

  • Monitor QMF results for commercial property claims and respond to outcomes of audits through developing training and other strategies that address audit results to drive quality across the team 

  • Be accountable for Commercial Property performance against agreed budgets, including revenue and margin targets.

  • Respond to current and emerging client needs, continuously developing and improving our performance on commercial claims.

  • Drive the growth of Commercial Property through regular client interaction and presentations on continuous improvement in our commercial claims management solution.

  • Ensure that the customer experience delivered by the business aligns with regulatory, client, and community requirements and expectations.

  • Lead the team in managing the Commercial Portfolio, providing strategic leadership and guidance, and monitoring employee succession and development as part of the leadership team.

  • Attract and retain best-in-class talent, collaborating with Professional Services, Recruitment, and CR teams.

About you:
  • Extensive loss adjusting experience in the commercial area.

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g., Business, Insurance, or Law).

  • ANZIIF Qualification in Loss Adjusting or international equivalent.

  • Experience in leading a national team.

  • Key communication skills both written and spoken.

  • A passion to provide great customer service and engage with a variety of people.

  • Self-motivated, with good time-management and organisational skills.
