Role Description & Purpose

The Head of Operations (HoO) is a senior leader within Pop and provides leadership and management of the operational team and is responsible for company wide operational excellence.  The position reports directly to the CEO and works closely with the Head of Speech Pathology (HoSP) to provide seamless integration between the clinical and operational teams.  

The HoO leads the operational team to achieve their KPI’s, priorities, projects and deadlines. The role oversees the efficient running of operational business functions as well business compliance and operational governance. Further, it is responsible for optimising systems and processes within the business and ensuring priorities identified by the CEO are achieved. 

Our avatar is an excellent operator and seasoned leader. You demonstrate excellence in; leadership, business operations, sales and systems, risk management and team work and are happy to get your hands dirty in the daily operations of our fast-paced scale-up.

Your position will involve the following: 

  • Daily leadership of operational team in areas of administration, sales, data, human resources, marketing and communications
  • Supporting team to prioritise business critical tasks to achieve company goals
  • Working closely with Clinical Leaders to provide excellence in clinical operation systems to maximise efficiencies for the clinical team
  • Managing business risks in conjunction with relevant stakeholders
  • Optimising virtual company systems and processes including CRM, Practice Management Software, cloud storage, project management software, messaging app software,  telecommunications and email systems
  • Operational governance of systems and policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legislation, National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) requirements, Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) requirements, data security and protection of intellectual property 
  • Identifying, escalating and executing quality improvement in line with company priorities
  • Leading relevant team meetings and involvement in workshops and retreats 
  • Actively seek professional development and learning opportunities to ensure both a knowledge of and commitment to current operational best practice.
  • Any reasonable direction from the CEO.
     

 Criteria:

  • 5+ years experience in operational leadership of a team of 5+ (required)
  • Experience in use of systems for sales and operations management
  • Demonstrated self-awareness of strengths & weaknesses as a leader (required)
  • Demonstrated skills as a confident, influential leader (required)
  • Experience in value based selling / Quoting (required)
  • Demonstrated excellence in project management
  • Experience in working remotely and leading remote teams (preferred)
  • Proven experience in presenting to senior management level up to and including executive level (required)
  • Strong commercial astuteness and negotiation skills including influencing, persuading and closing (required)
  • Self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to establish strong professional relationships with key clients, associations, not for profits, corporates and industry partners (required)
  • Demonstrated excellence in administration and reporting (required)
  • A passion for business (required)
  • Open drivers licence (required)
  • Covid 19 Vaccination Certificate (preferred)
  • Demonstrated understanding of issues faced by rural and remote families in accessing health services (preferred)

Hours:

Full time Monday to Friday.

Remuneration:

(dependent on experience)

Starting at $110k + super

Permanent role with 6 month probationary period. 

Location

Greater Brisbane preferred however remote will be considered for the right candidate.  Pop Headquarters is in Cannon Hill, Brisbane.
