Our client is a highly reputable employer within the manufacturing industry. Due to continuous growth, we’re seeking a Head of People & Culture to join the team.
This leadership position reports directly to the General Manager and forms part of the senior leadership team. As the Head of People and Culture, you will lead the People and Culture team based in two locations. The the position has oversight of workforce strategy, staff attraction, retention and performance, learning and education, workplace health and safety, organisational development, employee relations, volunteer coordination and the organisations workplace culture program.
The role:
- Provide effective HR advice to managers and employees to ensure compliance and minimise risk.
- Manage employee relations in a positive, proactive and strategic manner to support the business plan and achieve appropriate change.
- Support management with performance reviews and management
- Recruitment initiatives and retention
- Implement and review policy and procedure in line with employment legislation and in support of HR best practice
- Working closely with Senior Management to ensure that all relevant staff’s training, certification, accreditation, licenses are up to date and records updated accordingly.
- Oversight of payroll function
- Lead and drive effective Safety and RTW framework and strategy alongside the Management Team
What we are looking for:
- Relevant degree qualifications and/or equivalent senior leadership experience
- Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role
- Passionate about people and building top class teams
- Flexible mindset.
- Proven track record designing and implementing HR systems and processes
- Experience working with remote teams.
- Motivated self-starter who is just as comfortable formulating high level HR strategy, as rolling up sleeves and dealing with the day-to-day needs of the business.
- Experienced in advising on issues relating to Australian employment law
- Excellent problem solving, negotiating and superior communication skills
