The Head of Repairs & Maintenance will support the needs of the retail group and their service station operators. You will lead a team who work closely with our Retail Operations group to ensure optimum facilities management services are delivered across the national retail network, both in store and on the forecourt.
About the Role
As the Head of Repairs and Maintenance (R&M) for the United Petroleum Group you will be responsible for:
- Leading a team who coordinate facilities management services, including ad hoc maintenance, preventative maintenance and capital works across a national network of retail service stations and other United Petroleum assets including fuel systems.
- Identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives.
- Managing the R&M budget and identifying opportunities for cost efficiencies.
- Proactively reviewing, monitoring and auditing work orders.
- Overseeing the coordination of fuel systems and signage, branding and Maintenance.
- Maintain and manage the CMMS systems ensuring all assets are accounted for and work orders processed according to team KPI's.
- Work closely with the Retail Operations Group to improve services and processes in order to meet business requirements.
- The supervision of subcontractors delivering maintenance, renovations and general upgrades/ building works to assets across Australia.
- Budget planning, analysis and reporting to stakeholders.
- Oversee completion of urgent and critical maintenance issues within the region on a 24/7 basis.
- Troubleshoot and quickly escalate delays or issues arising from work orders
- Liaising with internal property, real estate, construction, signage and, R&M staff.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will be an established people leader, you will be highly motivated, thrive on taking ownership and will pride yourself on optimum service delivery. Previous exposure to fuel and/or convenience retail industries is essential. In addition, you will possess:
- A trade background in engineering or building qualifications.
- Significant experience in facilities management and R&M, with exposure to the service stations environment being highly advantageous.
- An understanding of the legislative OH&S landscape and risk and compliance issues and set standards.
- A hard working, productive and performance focused work ethic coupled with a continuous improvement focused mindset.
- Strong computer skills - MS Office and experience with CMMS highly regarded.
- Ability to manage a budget, interpret pricing and quotations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and build relationships internally and externally.
