About the role

As the Head of Sales- Retail, you will operate at a strategic level and will be part of the senior leadership team playing a crucial role in expanding our customer base, enhancing brand awareness, and driving revenue.

This role will develop and execute the sales strategy and leverage existing networks to drive business growth, pipeline development and achievement against sales targets.

As a natural sales hunter, key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the development and execution of high-impact growth strategies aligned with overall business objectives.
  • Provide strategic direction, identify and develop partnerships to support new business opportunities.
  • Responsible for submissions and tenders as part of the whole sales process, leading complex contract and pricing negotiations.
  • Contribute to the financial performance of the Retail business measured by Sales, Margin, Gross Profit & Stock Management (including sell through and stock turn metrics).
  • Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status.
  • Collaborating with the Design and Product teams to ensure the right assortment planning and product development to meet customer needs.

About you

You have extensive experience and networks within the retail sector, and love opening new doors. You will have strong commercial acumen with a deep understanding of retail & wholesale business and market dynamics.

As a leader you will have the ability to “roll up your sleeves” and be completely hands-on from the outset.

A passion and understanding of textiles and homewares are a bonus, but as a minimum you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Proven track record 7 years + of Sales success within a retail B2B sales environment.
  • Senior Leadership level presence with the maturity and strategic planning experience.
  • Existing relationships and networks with businesses and decision-makers, across the retail and FMCG sector.
  • Commercially savvy – Experience in managing a P&L, pricing, rebates and margins.
  • Ability to identify and forecast on market trends and opportunities, consumer behaviour, product, brand and lifecycle trends.
  • A strong commitment to investing in talent, both within your team and cross-functionally, to enhance capabilities company-wide.
