As our Health and Safety Business Partner, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, customers, and the communities we serve.
About the role:
- Developing and implementing Health and Safety policies, procedures, and programs aligned with regulations and best practices.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to identify and assess Health and Safety risks associated with our operations and activities.
- Conducting regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Providing expert advice and guidance to management and employees on Health and Safety matters.
- Delivering Health and Safety training programs to employees, contractors, and partners.
- Investigating incidents, accidents, and near misses, and implementing corrective and preventive measures as required.
- Monitoring and analysing Health and Safety performance metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Liaising with regulatory authorities and industry organisations to stay updated on relevant legislation, regulations, and industry trends.
- Acting as a champion for Health and Safety culture, promoting awareness and engagement across the organization.
About you:
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or related field.
- Proven experience working in Health and Safety roles, preferably within the waste management, recycling, or environmental services industry.
- Strong understanding of Health and Safety legislation, regulations, and standards, particularly in the context of waste management and recycling operations.
- Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Certified Health and Safety Professional (e.g., Cert IV in Work Health and Safety) preferred.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various sites across Victoria as needed.
