Melbourne Regional Landfill (MRL) is the largest landfill in the southern hemisphere and a renewal energy plant with a capacity of 8.8Mw, providing enough electricity to power more than 13,000 homes each year.
About the role
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety professional to promote and implement the safety culture at the MRL site.
Additionally, the role involves:
- Conducting site inductions for contractors and new employees
- Conducting risk assessments and hazard identification activities at the MRL and neighbouring sites
- Issuing permits to work as per Cleanaway's required standards
- Involvement in various safety related initiatives and projects
- Maintenance of current risk registers and development and assessment of effective risk controls
- Conducting HSE incident investigations
- Providing site managers with live safety-related advice when required.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Qualifications in occupational Health and Safety, or other relevant disciplines
- A minimum of three years' practical experience in Health & Safety or similar discipline
- Strong communication skills to communicate at all levels of the organisation
- Previous experience in blue-collar, high-risk industry environments is desirable.
