Our client is the largest integrated construction materials company in Australia, producing and selling a broad range of construction materials, including quarry products, cement, concrete, asphalt and recycled materials. Employing circa 5,000 employees and contractors nationally, their extensive footprint includes some 357 operating sites nationally.
Located in North Shore GEELONG, they are seeking to appoint an exceptionally talented and engaging Health & Safety Business Partner to work on an iconic site. You will provide ongoing on-site support to build operational H&S leadership, culture, capacity and performance by partnering with business leaders, and supporting leaders to implement safety initiatives and monitor safety performance in line with our Clients vision, values and safety goals.
Your key duties and responsibilities in this hands-on position will include:
- Build strong relationships and partner with Leaders to prioritise focus areas based on risk.
- Provide on-site support to ensure all sites have up-to-date site risk assessments, risk registers and relevant health and safety management plans.
- Provide on-site support to appropriately guide the risk management framework, site-leadership development and improvement initiatives relative to each site’s requirements.
- Support the overall effectiveness of workplace operational H&S risk processes and management.
- Undertake and support site walks and risk assessment reviews on site.
- Provide specialist H&S advice, training, including supporting site personnel with safety advice and sourcing and providing relevant legislative information.
- Support the implementation of the HSE assurance plan and H&S Regulatory Compliance inspections, audits, statutory reports and prescribed incident notifications.
- Provide advice and support to the operations in managing incidents and injuries and assisting with determination of the level of investigation and incident classification for H&S incidents.
- Undertake incident investigation reports and facilitation and management of incident response.
- Knowledge of WH&S Legislation, Rail Safety National Law and Heavy Vehicle National Law and associated workplace activities and their risks or demonstrate the ability to acquire a sound knowledge of these matters
- Ability to build and manage strong relationships with key stakeholders
- Sound knowledge of statutory authorities
- Sound knowledge of high potential hazard identification and critical risk management.
- Experience in incident analysis techniques with a focus on high value learning.
- Sound knowledge of safety management systems.
- Knowledge of auditing and assurance techniques and processes.
