The Role:

We're looking for an equally passionate and motivated Health, Safety & Risk Managerto join our team in a permanent full-time role. The role can be based in either of our Sydney or Melbourne or Noosa offices.
Key responsibilities:
- Developing, implementing, and monitoring effective WHS systems, policies, training, and practises for the Oceania region.
- Ensuring successful implementation and delivery of health, safety, and risk management at each of our events.
- Ensure H&S compliance at our offices and warehouses.
- Facilitate a reporting culture to monitor incidents, injuries and identify risks.
- Provide information and advice to management regarding serious WHS risks to the organisation and devise appropriate solutions.
- Prepare and distribute monthly H&S reports.
- Manage internal and external health & safety audits.
- Primary point of contact for any relevant regulators.
- Organise and manage regular Risk Committee meetings.
- Provide guidance on contractor and supplier management and processes.
- Manage and develop effective relationships with key stakeholders to ensure they comply with WHS policies & procedures.
- Implement, monitor and update WHS policies and procedures.
- Monitor compliance to policies and laws by attending our events or managing any site safety inspectors at key events.
- Insurance program- manageinsurance brokers, renewals, documentation and insurance claims.
- Leadership - provide high-quality services, support, advice and feedback to managers and staff to lift H&S performance.
- Training and Education- educate the team on risk management.
- Develop and deliver targeted training programs and inductions.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Relevant qualifications in Health & Safety Management.
- Sound Health & Safety industry experience (minimum 4 years’ experience).
- Detailed knowledge of, and experience with Workers’ Compensation Systems.
- Have sports event industry experience or event management experience.
- Strong ability to build good working relationships across the organisation, with an ability to communicate proactively, effectively and using plain language.
- Ability to coach and educate the team to influence outcomes- especially around risk management.
- Ability to work well autonomously, in a sole H&S role, as well as a key part of a team in a high-pressure environment.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Valid Working with Children check (or ability to obtain one).
- Be able to travel and provide hands-on support across our team and attend events.
Desirable, but not essential:
- Current First Aid certificate
- Knowledge of triathlon/ multi- sport, swimming, mass participation events.
- Multi- location experience- offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Noosa and NZ, and we deliver events across NZ and Australia.
- Experience working across H&S legislation in both Australian and NZ.
