About the Role
Reporting to the Heritage Manager, the role will responsible for ensuring safe and efficient delivery of field work program, upholding safety standards, timely incident reporting and ensuring adequate resourcing and infield support for the team. The role will also plan and coordinate personnel, equipment, safety and logistics.

Key responsibilities
- Managing Fieldwork logistics and emergency response to ensure safe heritage operations.
- Leading critical risk management during surveys to ensure safe operation.
- Managing asset and fleet utilization, ensuring vehicles are equipped with remote working safety gear.
- Supporting best practices for heritage field work across Ngarluma areas.
- Representing Ngarluma, supervising infield contractors, and prioritising teams well-being.
- Supporting community and Ngarluma-led cultural projects and technical assessments.
- Identifying and addressing Ngarluma feedback and concerns promptly.
- Reviewing fieldwork safety and incident management procedures.
- Participating in risk assessment workshops and heritage audits.
- Implementing safety maturity models and improvement plans.
- Coaching and mentoring the Heritage liaison team.
Key Selection Criteria
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Demonstrated understanding and adherence to safety and compliance.
- Proven experience in risk management associated with heritage fieldwork
- Demonstrated ability to lead and uphold safety standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with stakeholders.
- Ability to mentor the heritage team.
- Problem solving skills and proven ability to provide timely solutions.
- Strong organisational skills in managing fieldwork.
- Current WA driver’s licence.
- National police clearance (not older than six months).
