About the role:
Case Workers are responsible for ensuring that collaborative,high quality, client focused case-management services are providedto people who are homeless or in housing need. This role isresponsible for providing support, information and practicalassistance on a range of issues to people who are homeless or inhousing need that will facilitate their transition to independentliving (or access appropriate supported accommodation). Allservices are provided within an integrated and collaborativeframework with relevant stakeholders and services in thecommunity.
What we are looking for in an applicant:
- knowledge of multi-disciplinary issues relating to homelessness such as: poverty, unemployment, health, family violence, substance use and other social factors which impact on vulnerable or at risk people;
- an understanding of Tasmania’s current housing market and the difficulties facing low income people trying to secure housing;
- a high level of interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively engage with people seeking assistance though external stakeholders including real estate agents and landlords;
- high level initiative, problem solving and resilience skills including the ability to maintain a positive outlook, see the ‘bigger picture’, identify opportunities and implement solutions;
- well-developed writing skills including the ability to maintain accurate, professional case-notes, write reports, collect data, prepare correspondence and provide required information within program guidelines;
- excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to manage own work flows in conjunction with senior staff;
- a Social Work Degree or other relevant tertiary qualification and/or clearly demonstrated extensive experience attained through previous appointments, service and/or study.

Successful applicants must be willing to:
- provide a current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People Registration (employment/volunteer category) including NDIS Worker Screening Check if you are applying for the 1st time or have renewed your registration since 1st February 2021;
- present an unsupervised contact with children or vulnerable people type National Police Check (no older than 12 months);
- provide an International Police Check if you have resided for 12 months or more outside of Australia after the age of 16;
- provide a satisfactory Anglicare assessed medical:
- provide a current provisional or full Australian Driver Licence.
