About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Case Worker for our Safe Space Program! You will provide immediate solutions for those who are sleeping rough in North West Tasmania. Additionally, you will provide safe shelter at night with emotional wellbeing and physical support to those who use the program.
Responsibilities include
Assess each participant to ensure it is safe to provide shelter for the night
Collect brief personal data about their current situation (with their consent)
Provide participants with information about support services they can access to assist them move into transitional housing/support
Develop short individual plan to identify and assess their immediate needs
Acquire and maintain a good working knowledge of health and AOD services
This is a casual position, based in Burnie, TAS. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Level 4 Award.
What you will have
Relevant vocational or tertiary qualifications and/or a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
Minimum Diploma level qualification in a relevant discipline
Professional development required to maintain skills for the role
Experience in Social Work, Community Welfare, Mental Illness, Drug & Alcohol dependency, nursing or other relevant experience
Demonstrated ability to work with vulnerable individuals and people under the influence of drugs and alcohol
Commitment to the mission and values of The Salvation Army
A Current VIC Driver's Licence
