A unique property, Ikara Wilpena Pound is the only accommodation located within the Ikara Flinders Ranges National Park, 430km north of Adelaide. This is one of Australia’s premier Indigenous and eco-tourism experiences. This extraordinary landscape includes 800 million year old fossils unique in the world and has been home to Adnyamathanha people for tens of thousands of years. Enjoy a haven of outback hospitality with 60 hotel rooms, 15 glamping safari tents, a picturesque campground, National Park Visitor Information Centre, restaurant, bar/bistro, swimming pool and general store.
Job DescriptionThis position supports the General Manager in all generalist Human Resource activities across the business, ensuring the most effective utilisation of Human Resources for the resort,
This is a varied role which will see you, build and maintain successful relationships with employees and key stakeholders by providing hands on, leadership, support and operational Human Resource advice daily. A passion for and understanding of indigenous culture and employment is critical to success.
Ideally you will have the flexibility to work a week at a time onsite and a week from home. Accommodation, meals and travel allowance are included as part of your remuneration package.
To be considered for this position, you will demonstrate:
- Sound working knowledge of and the proven ability to interpret and advise on the Fair Work Act, NES, and Modern Awards
- Strong relationship management and communication skills, including the ability to influence key stakeholders.
- Attention to detail with the ability to implement and manage processes.
- Well-developed organisational and administrative skills, including proficient skills in computers (Microsoft Office Suite, HRIS etc.) and strong attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently to prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously within a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing demands.
What You Will Bring:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Tourism/Hospitality Management or equivalent are an advantage.
- Demonstrated respectful experience with First Nations Peoples in a cross-cultural and diverse workplace.
- 2 + years previous experience in a Generalist HR role, with a proven track record in supporting a HR Business Partner or Snr Consultant to deliver contemporary HR practices. .
Our ideal candidate will have experienced working in a remote environment and/or with Indigenous interests at an enterprise level where initiative, organisational and advance planning skills are essential.
You will demonstrate a flexible attitude to work and the passion to work as part of an operational team who are hands on, confident and have a passion for delivering outstanding guest relations.
