Your future role
Austin has an exciting permanent full-time employment opportunity for an experienced HR Advisor based in Mackay. As HR Advisor you will be a crucial member of our HR Team, providing expert advice and support to managers and employees in our business units in QLD.

Skills & experience
- HR Professionals with at least 4 years of experience working in HR Advisory roles in a fast-paced environment
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources is essential as well as solid understanding of Australian employment legislation
- Previous experience supporting end-to end recruitment activities is essential.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development highly regarded.
- Previous experience working with remote teams will be preferred but not essential. Our company has workshops in WA and QLD.
- Previous exposure to payroll activities is highly regarded (review, audit or approval of payroll reports)
Main duties
- Support, coach and mentor managers in the application of appropriate HR responses to specific issues.
- Work collaboratively with the HR Team to review existing process and practices, recommending and implementing improvements.
- Participate in implementation of HR projects oriented to the standardization and unification of human management systems and practices across Australia
- End-to-end recruitment for direct employees in white collar and blue collar roles.
- Liaison with labour hire suppliers to effectively recruit and onboard staff
- Act as point of contact for all new employees and take ownership of the onboarding process.
- Prepare contracts of employment and related correspondence, including any changes in conditions of employment
- Accurately prepare and deliver monthly reports required for different areas
- Work collaboratively with the Payroll Officer to review payroll reports, process and practices
- Ability and willingness to support payroll activities - occasional back up when required
- Act as point of contact for all employees regarding payroll requests.
