Warrah is a disability services provider, based in North West Sydney. Inspired by the philosophy of Rudolf Steiner, Warrah has been offering quality supports and services for adults and children living with disability for over 50 years. Warrah is a vibrant community, enriching the lives of individuals through our broad range of services, which include Supported Independent Living (SIL), Community Support Services (CSS) and Warrah Specialist School. Role Purpose
The HR Coordinator is the first point of contact to respond to and resolve internal and external HR related enquiries. The HR Coordinator is responsible for the administration and coordination of the employment life cycle and will also assist with the review, design and delivery of people and culture initiatives to support operational and strategic objectives. The HR Coordinator will provide support and guidance to all stakeholders in undertaking operational HR activities and requirements.
Relationships
- Works collaboratively with the People & Culture team, Coordinators and Service Managers
- Develops positive relationships with job applicants, staff, volunteers, external contacts and organisations
- Upholds a relationship of quality customer service to all stakeholders
Key Accountabilities and Actions
Recruitment and Onboarding
- Support the HR Business Partners with recruitment, contracting and onboarding activities
- Support recruitment activities, including creating and uploading all relevant information and workflows eg preparing job requisitions, posting job advertisements, application screening, scheduling interviews, conducting background checks, reference checking and processing job offers
- Assist onboarding process for new hires, coordinating candidate communication, issuing employment packs, and ensuring timely completion of paperwork
HR Administration
- Complete HR administrative tasks, manage HR files, employment records, probation reviews, appraisals, compliance registers and assist with managing training events and records
- Maintain accuracy of data in HR systems, including ELMO and EmpLive
- Managing emails and action queries in HR inbox
- Organise staff events and initiatives, eg monthly Gumboot Day, Staff celebrations, Warrah festivals, R U Ok day
- Consult with Community Engagement & Marketing Manager on HR material and publications, including job advertisements, photo usage, Social Media consent, Facebook updates
- Administer the Staff Facebook page accepting new staff and removing exiting staff; monitor content regularly and escalate concerns to the relevant Executive Manager
Operational HR
- Support the HR Business Partner in delivering operational HR requirements across all areas of people and culture as required, including learning and development and employee wellbeing and culture initiatives
- Assist with the development and implementation of HR initiatives, policies and procedures
- Support the People & Culture team with social media usage, eg staff Facebook, LinkedIn
- Provide monthly recruitment and turnover status updates to the Executive Manager People & Culture
- Develop relationships with all stakeholders including, the school leadership team and other area managers to fully understand their HR requirements
Contribution to a positive workplace culture
- Actively engage in Warrah’s culture initiatives, such as festivals, cross-organisation activities, team building
- Develop and maintain understanding of customer service across the organisation, taking responsibility for the delivery of work outcomes with efficiency, professionalism and integrity

Essential skills and experience
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Human Resources or equivalent (essential)
- Previous experience in an HR generalist role (2 years minimum)
- Demonstrate a good understanding of Award interpretation, labour laws and the best practices of Human Resources.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines
- Experience using ELMO would be advantageous but not essential
- Highly computer literate with capability in email, MS Office and related business and communication tools
- High level of customer service skills and excellent organisational and time management skills
