Gowrie SA is seeking an experienced Human Resources Officer to fill a part-time position, working between 24-32 hours a week. This position is being offered initially until the 30th June 2025.
Using good existing systems already in place and working closely with the HR Administration Assistant, your responsibilities will be (but not limited to):
- Managing the process of maintaining individual employee records and payroll documents ensuring data integrity
- Managing the process of maintaining up-to-date alerts for contract renewals, variations, hourly rate increases and preparing contracts in collaboration with the leadership team
- Provide HR support to the leadership team for underperformance, performance reviews and management of employees, and ensuring compliance with legislative requirements is adhered to
- Provide contemporary advice to leadership on all HRM evidence-based practices
- Managing the process of maintaining existing systems to ensure employee mandated training is kept up to date
- Provide HRM related reporting
- Interpret and advise the leadership team of current and amended Industrial awards, legislation and the LGCC Enterprise Agreement
- Monitor, review, research and amend all Gowrie SA policies and procedures in collaboration with the leadership team
- Manage the recruitment process of all new employees, including overseeing all advertising and participating in interview panels and referee checking
- Support the Finance Officer in fortnight checking of the external payroll reports and providing backup with the preparation of payroll reports
- Manage all new employee inductions in collaboration with leadership
No day will be the same! To be successful in this role, you must have:
- A Diploma of Human Resources Management or equivalent as a minimum
- Intermediate MS Office knowledge (MS Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Proven previous experience working within a generalist HR Management or a similar role
- Proven previous knowledge of interpretation of relevant legislation governing employment, Human Resources and Industrial Relations (e.g. Fair Work Act, Modern Awards, Employment Contracts)
- The ability to develop and manage systems and maintain processes and procedures
- Effective written and verbal communication with all employees of the organisation
- Effective research skills
- The ability to work collaboratively and to negotiate problem-solving approaches
- The ability to demonstrate priorities, and achieve identified outcomes within timelines
- A strong commitment to Reconciliation and social justice
