The Position & The OrganisationOur client is a national leader in the construction services sector based in Brisbane, offering a full-time permanent position for an experienced HR professional to join the team. The culture of this business has been described as fun, supportive, and encouraging.In this role you will be reporting to the General Manager and will be guiding and mentoring 2 direct reports. You will be instrumental in driving business objectives, promoting a supportive culture and providing advice and guidance to leaders across the business and mentor. This role will require an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes initiatives on tasks. You will enjoy being agile and flexible as this role is a true HR generalist position, working across the employee lifecycle.Key Responsibilities

• Support the leadership team continuously grow and develop their employees through the development and implementation of new initiatives, strategies and processes to improve the performance and delivery within HR and the wider business;
• Provide generalist advice, coaching and training to leaders with regards to performance management, industrial relations, remuneration and best practice HR solutions;
• Ensure a positive team member on-boarding, through the management of contracts and induction training;
• Lead all investigation, grievances and performance management processes, through maintaining up to date knowledge of employee legislation, Fair Work and National Employment Standards;
• Support, coordinate, and initiate employee engagement and culture initiatives projects, and events.

Skills and Experience

• Tertiary qualifications in human resources, management or related business discipline;
• Demonstrated experience working in a HR generalist capacity with strong practical and technical knowledge;
• Demonstrated experience and knowledge in employee relations, performance management and Award interpretation;
• Experience in partnering with and influencing all business levels including service staff and management.
• Team focused attitude whilst also maintaining the ability to work autonomously is essential in this environment as well as strong communication skills;
• High level of interpersonal, problem solving, negotiations, written and verbal communication skills.
