Job description

Human Resources Manager

Summary

Strive Community Services is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to:

  • Enriching the lives of people with special needs, their families, and carers, by providing person-centred services and programs.

  • Providing inclusive and accessible recreational and educational opportunities, with special consideration for individuals with disabilities

About Strive

Founded in 1996 as Landsdale Family Support Association Inc., our original purpose was to provide respite camps for children with disabilities at Landsdale Farm School. In 2009 we changed our name to Family Support WA Inc, as we expanded our services to include young adults.

Over the last 25 years we have grown to provide several services to people of all ages with disabilities, as well as now running Landsdale Farm. In November 2021, we became Strive Community Services Inc., to better reflect the wide range of community services we provide.

The Role

We are now seeking interest from suitably qualified candidates to join our team as our Human Resource Manager. This is a full-time position that will be part of the Executive Management Team at Strive. The role is currently based at the idyllic Landsdale Farm, in Darch, with occasional travel to our Rockingham Office.

The Human Resource Manager will lead and administer Strive’s Human Resources services to provide a customer and employee-oriented performance culture that focuses on quality, well-being, goal attainment & empowerment. The HR Manager will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to promote inclusivity, diversity, and a sense of belonging for all employees and volunteers.

Currently the Human Resources Manager has two part-time direct reports who both cover reception and provide HR administration support in the areas of training, compliances, onboarding and offboarding.

As well as sitting on the Executive Team, this is a very hands-on role, and the Human Resources Manager will also be expected to assist their team with the general HR administration tasks.

Requirements for the role:

  • Proven track record as a HR Generalist in a senior role.
  • Tertiary Qualifications in Human Resources Management (or another relevant field in conjunction with HR Management experience).
  • Extensive knowledge of Human Resources processes and relevant employment laws and Industrial frameworks
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to offer pragmatic solutions to business problems.
  • Excellent consulting, negotiation, and facilitation skills.
  • Experience in all areas of the employee lifecycle (recruitment, onboarding, administration, training and development, mediation, performance management and grievance investigation).
  • Ability to influence and coach leaders to effectively manage people matters.
  • Strong written skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Valid WA Drivers’ License
  • Provision of a Working with Children Check, National Police Clearance (less than 6 months old) and a National Disability Insurance Scheme worker screening check prior to the first day of employment and renewing these regularly in accordance with Strive’s policy.

We Provide:

  • 5 weeks annual leave
  • One working from home day per week.
  • The opportunity for the right individual to grow and develop.
  • Full Salary Packaging Benefits with Access Pay, please use this link to see how much this benefit could mean to you.

If you want to be part of a dynamic Executive Team, who are looking to grow the organisation, then please apply along with your covering letter outlining your suitability for the position and an up-to-date resume.
