Job description

Human Resources Advisor for a mining organisation based in Central West Regional QLD.

Your new company

Our client, a world-renowned mining giant, is a long-term global leader in the Hard Rock mining sector and is also at the forefront of providing sustainable mining services across the world and a leader in community services with respect to mining. They are currently seeking an experienced Human Resource Advisor to join the team in a full-time capacity. This is a residential role based in Central West Regional Queensland and requires relocation to the area.

Your new role

Reporting to the Senior Human Resources Advisor, you will work closely with leaders at all levels supporting the business, leadership groups and employees. You will:

  • Assisting the business with Human Resources related policies and procedures (as well as Enterprise Agreements and legislation), including remuneration and benefits, leave, termination, performance management and injury management.
  • Negating risk to business by effectively managing employee and industrial relations for your designated portfolio, including dealing with third parties, and conducting prompt investigations into grievances, fair treatment, and serious breaches.
  • Work actively with leadership to best manage their people, make sound decisions to reduce the number of grievances and reach relevant KPIs.
  • Provide prompt customer service to clients, focusing on problem-solving, quick resolutions, using data to identify and manage issues, and consistent and fair treatment of all employees.
  • Work closely with administrators and graduates, supporting and coaching, to ensure timely and accurate service.
  • Building strong relationships with the department leadership, being visible in the areas of responsibility, providing easy access for employees and leaders to access HR, attending relevant department meetings and regular attendance at safety deployments, ensuring visibility and support.
  • Maintain and manage HR information systems with accurate information, including organisational charts and any other employee related data.
  • Communicate effectively with employees and leadership on relevant changes and important information related to their employment.

What you'll need to succeed

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Minimum three years' post graduate experience in HR or business-related field, preferably within the resources or heavy industry sector.
  • A strong understanding and applied knowledge of Fair Work, the NEW and Modern Awards;
  • An understanding of the labour market, remuneration and attraction strategy.
  • An interest in being mentored, up skilled, and learning from experienced practitioners, whilst willing to share your experiences and expertise with others.
  • Initiative and willingness to take on new challenges and find solutions to problems, short and long term.
  • Enjoy being part of an outback community.
