Our unwavering commitment to empowering and developing our workforce has led us to search for a highly motivated HR Generalist to become a valuable member of our P&C TEAM.

Your new Team and Role:
Reporting to the Regional P&C Manager you will support our leaders and employees throughout the employment life cycle with strategic, advisory, and operational support. You will build strong stakeholder relationships with people leaders in the Western region, earning a reputation for being a trusted advisor and Business Partner. Along with leaders, you will ensure that all HR procedures and policies are understood and committed to, by involving stakeholders in the process and guiding the development of pragmatic approaches, plans, and choices about people management. Critical to the success of this role is the ability to deliver service excellence to all stakeholders, whilst displaying outstanding communication and relatability with our people. Forming as part of the wider P&C Team, you will be joining a team that is results driven, open minded and most importantly we balance the fun and serious!  

A Day to Day:

  • Supporting our line managers by providing P&C support and advice that aligns and adheres to Fenner/Michelin organisational policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Award and Enterprise Agreement interpretation, policy advice, employee grievance support, performance management support, absence management and other Human Resources generalist tasks.
  • Managing and leading investigations.
  • Represent the company in enterprise agreement negotiations.
  • Manage all industrial relations issues.
  • Review, refine, and develop People & Culture policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Champion initiatives to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Coach line managers on how to engage, develop, reward, and retain their employees.
  • Leading and mentoring P&C Advisors and providing learning opportunities to ensure a career path.  
What we need from you:
With a practical, pragmatic and improvement focus, your passion for people inspires those around you. You will have exceptional people and relationship management skills, underpinned by your ability to build trust and influence across a diverse range of stakeholders. You can also demonstrate:
  • Tertiary degree level qualifications in Human Resources, Psychology or associated discipline, or equivalent level of expertise gained from a combination of experience, training, or professional accreditation.
  • Broad range of generalist HR experience, within a workforce that is unionised.
  • Minimum 8 years of Business Partnering experience.
  • Demonstrable experience in Awards and Enterprise Agreement interpretation
  • Previous experience in grievances, performance management, and complaint investigation
  • Proactive, well organised, and can work autonomously in an unsupervised environment.
  • Can deal with ambiguity and complexity, along with strong problem-solving skills across the employee life cycle.
  • As required, able to work overtime and ability to travel locally and interstate when required.
  • Strategic mindset with a results-driven approach, coupled with a hands-on, action-oriented mentality.
  • Upholds a positive mindset and is able to support the growth, mentoring and guidance of others.
