The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (the NDIS Commission) is an independent agency established on 1 July 2018 to improve the quality and safety of NDIS supports and services. The Commission is the dedicated national regulator of NDIS service providers in Australia and a non-corporate entity under the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013.
The People Strategy team is the NDIS Commission’s strategic workforce advisor, supporting the implementation of the NDIS Commission’s Workforce Plan 2022-27. Key responsibilities of the team include:
strategic workforce planning;
talent and development and organisational capability;
workplace relations at an enterprise level, including enterprise bargaining;
Workplace Consultative Committee Secretariat;
inclusion and diversity; andworkforce wellbeing.
Key duties of the role
Reporting to the Director, People Strategy, the HR Strategy Officer is responsible for the strategic planning and development of processes and guidelines to support all APS employees, managers and senior leaders across the NDIS Commission. This role contributes to the development, evaluation on a range of approaches and initiatives to support business as usual and the Commission’s strategic goals.
The HR Strategy Officer is an integral team member, fostering effective communication, information exchange and cooperative work arrangements across the NDIS Commission while demonstrating a high standard of integrity and ethical behaviour.
The HR Strategy Officer will:
be accountable to ensure they have knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and the NDIS Commission’s strategic planning requirements;
draft HR processes and guidelines for review and publication;
contribute to the review, planning and implementation of HR policies and procedures;
liaise and communicate with key stakeholders and coordinate working groups, committee meetings, and stakeholder consultations to support HR strategy development and implementation;
undertake research and collate information for reporting, monitoring and evaluation purposes to contribute to the achievement of HR strategy outcomes; and
prepare and review strategic advice to ensure alignment with strategic directions.
