About the role
This position is responsible for managing the ICT landscape of security and operations in ensuring that Council's technological environment is secure, efficient and compliant with industry standards.
You will
- Develop and implement comprehensive ICT security strategies, policies, and procedures to safeguard digital assets and mitigate cyber threats.
- Lead and manage a team of ICT professionals, including Networking, Infrastructure, security analysts and operations staff.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and assess security risks, vulnerabilities, and incidents, and respond with appropriate remediation measures.
- Oversee the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of security tools, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and anti-malware solutions.
- Monitor and analyse security logs and reports, and initiate timely actions to address security incidents and breaches.
- Manage ICT operations, including network infrastructure, server environments, and end-user support.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and trends in ICT security and operations, and recommend strategies for continuous improvement.
- Develop and deliver security awareness training programs to educate staff about security best practices and procedures.
- Maintain compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and frameworks related to ICT security and operations.
- Lead and manage Disaster Recovery of system & ICT processes.
About the person
We are seeking a highly skilled ICT Security and Operations Manager to lead our security and operational systems and initiatives. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of digital assets, while also maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of ICT operations.
The successful candidate will have previous experience in a senior level position in Data and Information Technology, preferably in Local Government. It would be preferred but not essential for applicants to have a
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a senior level role overseeing ICT operations, service management and security.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, technologies and managing ICT operations including network infrastructure, server requirements and user support.
- Leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
