ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Import Coordinator / Customer Service operator is responsible for the movement of cargo by building strong relationships with clients, maintaining all rates and client retention through exceptional Customer Service and transparency. This position provides the right candidate to quickly progress into a leadership position across ocean and air freight.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain Portfolio of clients as assigned
- Handling quotations, invoicing and costings
- Handle customer enquiries in a friendly, professional manner
- Document all customer shipping enquiries and keep client updated on shipment progress, delays etc
- Handling import LCL / LCL with carriers, service providers and overseas partners
- Maintenance of SOPs
- Track and trace International Cargo
- Use of CargoWise
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work under pressure
- Flexible and adaptable
- Great attitude
- Team player
- Proficient within Microsoft Office
- Experience within providing exceptional Customer Service
- Experience working in freight forwarding
- The ability to work towards set KPI's and deadlines
- An understanding of Incoterms
- 2 years experience in International freight forwarding
- Exposure in imports and Customer Service
- Use of CargoWise
- Exposure across ocean and air freight
