The Role The Inclusive Employment Program is designed to provide temporary workplace opportunities and experience for local people who face barriers to employment, for a duration of six months. To apply for this position, you must live within the City of Whittlesea municipality, and you need to meet at least one of the following criteria: People from Culturally or Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds First Nations People People living with disability Older people unable to find suitable employment Residents who may be experiencing hardship Make a difference in our community! The Conservation Project Support Officer will assist the Conservation Team with investigations of many of the large River Red Gum trees in reserves across the municipality. This work will be a mix of online mapping investigation, data collection and site investigations to verify the presence of trees. This work will help to inform further technical investigations by qualified arborists. The role will be supported by a small team of conservation officers guiding the works and investigations and assist with support for any field work. About you We are seeking an individual with an interest in nature and the outdoors, who can work in a small team environment. You are able to get out and about in Council’s parks and reserves to do field-based investigations and complete basic field mapping and data collection activities. You can work at times with limited supervision and are keen to learn more about the local environment of Whittlesea. If this sounds like you, then you should definitely apply!
