We are a boutique accountancy firm with offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Hobart and Perth providing taxation and advisory services to the arts and entertainment industry throughout Australia and overseas.

An opportunity exists in our Perth CBD office for a qualified accountant to join our organisation on a full-time basis. 

Key responsibilities

• Preparation of financial statements, income tax returns and business activity statements for companies, trusts, partnerships, individuals and SMSFs
• Completion of financial statements for group structures with multiple entities, including those with overseas operations, including inter-company reconciliations and consideration of franked dividends and Div7A loans
• Liaising with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and other regulatory bodies when required

To be successful in the role you will have

• Bachelor of accounting or business/commerce degree, CA, CPA or IPA holder preferred
• 3 years relevant experience working in an Australian accounting firm or public practice
• Detailed knowledge of tax accounting principles for financial instruments, trusts, and/or superannuation funds
• Proficiency in MYOB, QuickBooks, Xero and MS Excel
• Ability to manage workflow, develop and maintain client relationships
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
• Sound time management in meeting internal and external deadlines
• Experience in the taxation of the creative industries, including income averaging and cultural gifts rules (desirable but not essential)
