Madelyn James Accountants is a small public practice accounting firm based in Lesmurdie. We operate from a home office and service clients across Australia. Due to our business's growth, we are seeking an Intermediate Tax Accountant with a minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience to support our team. This position will suit a staying-home mum or dad during school hours, 9 am to 3 pm, currently 3 days per week. This is an employee position and is ON SITE in Lesmurdie.
Qualifications & experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting. Studying towards CPA/CA qualification is desirable.
- Minimum of 2-3 years experience as a Tax Accountant
- Experience with MYOB and Xero products
- Familiarisation with Dext software is desirable
- Possess the ability and experience to interpret and analyse financial data
- The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Tasks & responsibilities
- Compile and analyse financial information to prepare financial statements
- Preparation of financial reports, general ledger, and journal entries
- Preparation of tax computations, income tax returns, BAS and IAS
- Review and reconcile quarterly data for the BAS lodgement
- Assisting with in-house bookkeeping
