Brisbane Infrastructure (BI) brings together Council's asset management, infrastructure planning, design, project management, construction, services, maintenance and transport operations activities.
Our Branch
City Projects Office delivers Council’s projects and programs through effective project ownership, management, planning and design. City Projects Office incorporates both design and project management services. We create and manage infrastructure projects, community assets and environmental development for Brisbane as well as delivering innovative solutions for natural and built environments.
The Role
The Program Coordinator Road Design provides an essential service to coordinate program administration systems for the Road Design unit. This role is also responsible for providing a wide range of high-level project support to the Principal Engineer and Road Design team.
Whilst there is some flexibility offered, this role will require the successful candidate to be in Brisbane City Council's Green Square Fortitude Valley Office on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
- develop, co-ordinate and maintain program planning and scheduling of projects and resources within the Road Design unit, including Microsoft Project and Excel project tracking spread sheets
- undertake procurement processes for contract services, including the tendering engagement, administration, and payment of contractor services
- manage and co-ordinate a wide range of highly effective, pro-active and reliable project coordination and support for the unit including project, business, finance and administrative services, such as project initiation, set up of projects, resource meetings and record management
- prepare written documentation, presentations, spreadsheets, correspondence and reports as required by the engineering staff and as required, research and interpret project associated data and prepare delivery program reports
- provide a high-quality customer interface, liaising effectively with internal and external stakeholders to enable the effective delivery of projects.
- role model exceptional customer service and team collaboration skills to help promote strong team culture.
To be successful you will have:
- high level office management and organisational skills including the ability to assist with managing and coordinating activities of other staff through effective task and time management
- experience in identifying project scope and planning to inform resource allocation for project tracking and project reporting.
- analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to collect, collate and analyse data
- demonstrated ability to develop and maintain customer relationships through excellent communication skills including presentation skills and financial reporting and work in partnership with the Principal Engineer and design professionals of varying levels often on highly sensitive and confidential matters
- sound knowledge of Council’s procurement processes, governance and current principles and practices for tendering and contracting to provide quality procurement administration and support to managers and staff in preparation and administering contracts
- extensive knowledge and experience in the use of Microsoft Project, Excel and knowledge of computer applications including financial applications, Microsoft Office Suite and Records Management.
