This successful Queensland based family office has investments across a wide range of asset classes (including early-stage growth technology companies) and is seeking to appoint an analyst to undertake a broad range of activities, including investment analysis, research, investment administration and taking an active role in working with investee companies. The Investment Analyst will report to the Investment Manager and will also work alongside the Founder/Principal.
You will be an important member of a small team who have a genuine passion and interest in investment and what makes businesses perform. You will also have ambition with the drive and ability to possibly one day become a CEO of an investee company!
The Role
- The purpose of this analyst role is to work with the Investment Team and Principals to provide insightful investment research and analysis, assist with administration and performance measurement of the investment portfolio;
- You will undertake research, analysis and reports on specific investments and assist with preparation of regular reporting for investment meetings;
- The role will include working closely with privately held early-stage growth/technology investee companies and helping drive strategy, performance and growth; and
- Given the small size of the team, the analyst will also be required to assist with some of the administrative and related tasks in managing a diverse portfolio of private and public investments as well as other family office operations
Key Requirements
You will be someone who is an analytical thinker and looking to develop your skills in a nimble and market responsive team. You are “hands on” in your approach and willing to roll your sleeves up to play an active role in working with investments and investee companies as well as other related tasks as required. You will be personable, a good communicator and be able to work effectively in a small team.
Other key requirements include;
- Tertiary qualifications (Business / Economics / Accounting / Finance/ Law)
- Proven analytical and research skills
- At least three to four years relevant professional work experience
- Strong excel and modelling skills
- Being self-motivated and ability of working autonomously, being part of a small close knit team
