ASIS is actively searching for enthusiastic and skilled technical professionals to become Directors in our organization. We are particularly interested in attracting talented individuals who enjoy leading teams and delivering vital business capabilities and services. Candidates for this role will be highly motivated, enjoy solving business problems with IT solutions, and be able to quickly grasp new information. Your curiosity, problem-solving skills and ability to make sound judgments in response to prioritisation, environmental changes, user requirements, and incident management will be crucial in this role.
We are looking to fill current and expected vacancies in multiple roles. Suitable candidates not selected in this round will be placed in a merit pool for future vacancies. The merit pool will be valid for 18 months. For role-specific information, please see below:
Director of Technical Infrastructure
Leads a dynamic team of technical specialists responsible for design, development and deployment of core ICT infrastructure technologies including networks, data centre, desktop/end user and unified comms capabilities to ASIS.
Director of IT Applications Development
Leads a diverse team of technical professionals in the development, implementation and maintenance of key business applications. The team uses agile and waterfall processes to develop on platforms delivering HR, ITSM, database, intranet, case management, product management and more.
Director of IT Service Management
Leads the customer-facing technical support staff and specialists responsible for IT service desk, business support, media transfer, device management, logistics, ICT asset management and licensing.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
IT Directors are responsible for:
• leading teams of technical officers who are diverse in skills, experience and technical disciplines;
• forward planning for your directorate in alignment with branch goals;
• developing and maintaining positive working relationships across all stakeholder groups including technical, business, executive, delivery partners and vendors;
• managing directorate budget and maintaining accurate financial records;
• engaging with Procurement Officers to contract vendors for labour, equipment and/or software;
• contract management, including negotiating contract terms with vendors; and,
• managing complex issues and delegating tasks.
Citizenship - To be eligible for employment with ASIS, you must be an Australian citizen.
Security Assessment - The successful applicant will be required to undergo and maintain a high-level security clearance. Ongoing employment with ASIS requires the successful candidates to maintain a high-level security clearance. Loss of a security clearance at any time will lead to termination of employment.
