About MIT:

Melbourne Institute of Technology (MIT) is a leading Private institute of Higher Education with campuses in Melbourne and Sydney.  We provide IT, Networking, Data Analytics, Business, Accounting and Engineering (Telecommunications) programs, at Bachelor and Master degree levels, to Australian and International students. MIT has a NEAS-accredited English Language Centre that offers a range of English language courses to help students improve their English skills and prepare them further study in Australia. 

The Role:

Are you an experienced troubleshooter with a passion for providing top-notch IT support? 

We are seeking a skilled IT Support Officer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for resolving IT incidents and requests at both the first and second levels, ensuring smooth operations and excellent user experience.

This position requires a full-time presence on campus to facilitate effective engagement with both staff and students, and as such, hybrid or work-from-home arrangements are not possible.

Responsibilities: 
  • Provide exceptional help desk services, addressing user inquiries and resolving technical issues promptly for staff and students. 
  • Create and manage user accounts, granting appropriate access to network resources and shared drives.
  • Offer comprehensive computer network support to ensure efficient and secure operations.
  • Communicate effectively about IT-related matters to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Maintain the quality of our IT infrastructure through preventive maintenance activities.
  • Organise and manage IT equipment, maintain accurate inventory records, and coordinate tasks for timely service delivery.
  • Actively contribute to management meetings, bringing valuable insights and ideas to the table.
  • Engage in ongoing learning and self-development to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends.
  • Take part in special projects, demonstrating your versatility and problem-solving skills.
 Qualifications & Experience: 
  • Qualifications: Diploma in IT or higher qualification in the discipline.
  • Customer Service Experience: Demonstrated experience in providing exceptional customer service with a strong desire to assist stakeholders, including students, academic staff, and support staff.
  • Proactive and Self-Motivated: Display a high degree of initiative, being proactive in identifying and addressing IT issues and finding solutions independently.
  • Communication Skills: Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Cultural Awareness: Show appreciation for cultural diversity and an understanding of issues related to the diverse cultural backgrounds of the student body.
  • Teamwork: Demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment, contributing to team goals and fostering positive working relationships.
