The Opportunity:
We are currently seeking an IT Systems Administrator to join our team and support our Global IT infrastructure and systems.
This is a hands-on senior technical specialist role, implementing a range of projects including researching, evaluating and deploying new capabilities and technologies as well as systems administration and support.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Research, evaluate, master and apply relevant new technologies to address deficiencies and opportunities in current technology stack, systems and security, as directed.
- In collaboration with the Global IT team, drive adoption and assimilation of approved leading technologies to maintain state of the art effective use of Information Technology across the Institute.
- Drive and own delivery of assigned IT projects.
- Contribute towards achievement of ISO 27001 certification.
- Support business as usual operations, performing Level 3 systems administration tasks.
- Improve processes, technical procedures and documentation in alignment with ISO 27001.
Our Successful Candidate is:
Essential:
- One or more of the following:
- Expert level skills in Microsoft products including Azure and M365 E5, and in particular the security and compliance components.
- Expert level systems administration skills in Windows Server and System Centre suite.
- Expert level systems administration skills in Linux and open-source software and/or HPC.
- At least 5 years’ experience working in roles demonstrating a high level of technical expertise, within a complex technology environment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to research, understand and apply relevant new technologies as required.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Desirable:
- Good understanding of ISO 27001.
