Global mining conglomerate seeking permanent IT Systems Engineer in Central QLD Your new company A global mining conglomerate with operations throughout the world are seeking a permanent IT Systems Engineer. This will see you work in a residential capacity at one of their key Queensland mine sites in the Central Highlands region! Your new role With their global headquarters located overseas, this international conglomerate conducts mining, energy and resource extraction services across multiple continents and countries. Domestically, with their Australian HQ in New South Wales, over the past few years they have been building their presence throughout the state of Queensland by replicating their global successful business model locally. As part of this they have grown to be Australia's largest coal producer with over 17 coal mines in operation across the east coast. As part of their success, they are seeking to appoint a new IT Systems Engineer to be based in a residential capacity at one of their largest sites in the Central Highlands region of Queensland. With over 650 employed, this role is crucial to the running of the site as technology underpins the running of their operations. As such, your new role will see you work across multiple domains. Firstly, your will support, deploy, maintain, build and upgrade any and all technology within your remit. Such instances can include configuring and deploying laptops, Cisco switch configuration, fibre optic installation, Windows Server Support, password resets and Active Directory administration to name a few. In conjunction with this you will also work alongside the Operational Technology (OT) Engineers to ensure the interoperability across different eco systems. Secondly, as the sites IT representative, not only will you oversee the technological aspects but also the accompanying higher-level duties. Procurement, project management, budgeting and IT road mapping are all part of this to enable you to not only support the technology in use, but to elevate your skill set and become the owner of this domain. Although working in a solo capacity, you will have the opportunity to liaise with (and rely on) not only the national corporate IT department (Service Desk etc) but also IT professionals from other sites in the region. The working conditions for this role are on a residential basis in Central Queensland. This site also boasts various mod-cons such as gyms, canteens, entertainment rooms, activity days, etc. What you'll need to succeed You will need experience/knowledge across the following:
The Microsoft eco system - Windows Server, SCCM, Active Directory, etc
Hardware (Desktops, Laptops, Mobile Devices etc) deployment/rollouts
Networking/Infrastructure platforms (Cisco, Switches, Routers, etc)
PABX Systems, fibre optic, copper cabling and wireless/mesh radio technologies advantageous
Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Experience in Service Management and knowledge of ITIL
Working with individuals across all levels of an organisation
Working in the mining/recourses sector a bonus
Clear written and verbal communication skills
